FREE PET FOOD SATURDAY

Our pets are our family. But what happens when we have to make the choice between paying for our personal medications and feeding our animals? Or between feeding them and ourselves?

In order to free up needed family funds, we provide FREE pet food for our local neighbors.

When: The first Saturday of each month

Where:  CrossRoads Church at Westfield.

19201 Grassy Branch Road, Westfield, IN 46074.

When: 9-11am.

Loving Our Neighbors by

Caring for Your Pets

Using a drive-through format you will have an opportunity to meet one of our providers, to share about your pets and their needs, and request resources.

Our staff will then seek to match your needs to our resources and seek to get you food that will work for you.  As our variety of food available is based upon the food we have purchased or gotten donated, we may not have the exact food you need.

We will keep our serving line open from 9 am until 11 am. We remain open each month regardless of the weather.  We look forward to seeing you!

Once you have received your food, you are invited to park and then shop for free pet supplies like leashes, bowls, collars, dog/cat beds, and pet toys.

We Love Our Pets

“Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to.” – Alfred A. Montapert

“I really love pets. They’re like children. They know if you really love them or not. You can’t fool them.” – Donna Douglas

“Most pets display so many humanlike traits and emotions it’s easy to forget they’re not gifted with the English language and then get snubbed when we talk to them and they don’t say anything back.” – Stephenie Geist

“Dogs are the leaders of the planet. If you see two life forms, one of them’s making a poop, the other one’s carrying it for him, who would you assume is in charge.” ― Jerry Seinfeld

“Animals are such agreeable friends they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.” – George Eliot

CrossRoads' Lead Pastor says...

Lead Pastor of CrossRoads Church Eric Lohe says Free Pet Food Saturday is designed help pets and their owners.

“While we love pets, this is really an effort to care for the owners of those pets,” Lohe says. “From some local health professionals, we learned that there are people in our community who, when resources are tight, opt to pay for food and care for their pets rather than for prescription medications for themselves.”

In conjunction with the Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County, the church gives away free dog and cat food.

“CrossRoads will be an outlet for Northern Hamilton County,” Lohe says. “We want this to be an initiative to help people care for themselves and their pets.”

Lohe believes that a single person with a pet regards them as their sole companion and that those owners will do anything to care for their pets.

"If we have learned anything from the pandemic it is that in times of stress and uncertainty our pets are integral in the mental health of our local neighbors," says Lohe.
